“We tend to forget that if God created us perfectly and His sense of diversity and variety is so rich and perfectly so, so there can be nothing wrong in what we feel, for these deep seated feelings are God-given and not the result of some sinful brokenness as traditional teaching would have us believe. It is only when we look at others with depravity and lustfulness, when we seek pleasure rather than loving the other where he or she is, when instead of being we focus on doing or becoming or getting that we lose track of ourselves, of others and of God and that is sinfulness. We then tend to carve God and other people in our image or forcing them to be what we want them to be rather than being with them where they are. And that makes a lot of sense.”
